Description of Classes
Beginner Yoga (Pre-Registered Course) - Designed for the beginner, this series of gentle classes will progressively add new poses and breathing techniques. Each week learn yoga asanas (postures) to feel more confident about stepping into regular Gentle and Hatha drop-in classes.
Gentle Hatha Yoga - An easy stretching class that flows and consists of physical exercises, breathing and relaxation. The pace of this class allows you to move as your body permits, finding acceptance in some cases and a gentle release in other. This class is excellent for beginners.
Hatha Yoga - A
basic class that flows and consists of physical exercises, breathing and relaxation components that will prepare you for all other styles of yoga. It is fundamentally learning "a yogic system of bodily control" and is great for beginners.
Hatha Yoga & Abs - With most of the exercises revolving around the core, get ready to strengthen and stretch your abdominals and lower back. Improve awareness of the core stabilizing muscles, while taking self-responsibility for creating a healthy spine and good posture.
Hatha Yoga For Back Care - This class emphasizes yoga postures that build support for the spine by strengthening the abdominal and back muscles, as well, it involves appropriate stretching to promote balance in the torso region. If you suffer from back pain, a stiff back, back injuries or weak back muscles or you would like to prevent these conditions, this class is for you! Build core strength and flexibility and lengthen the spine to create space between the vertebrae, relieve your back pain or prevent it.
Kundalini Yoga - Based on kriyas or specially formulated sets of exercises, Kundalini Yoga shapes the body and trains the mind to be strong and flexible in the face of stress and change. It increases oxygen capacity, boosts blood flow, balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, and reduces stress-induced toxins such as adrenaline and cortisol. The effect is a heightened self-awareness and vitality that allows you to harness mental and emotional energy. Individuals feel more in control of themselves, with enhanced peace of mind, concentration, and a deep inner calm and self-confidence. No matter what someone’s age or physical capacity, Kundalini yoga and meditation can have immediate benefits.
Mixed Levels Hatha Yoga - A well balanced yoga flow open to beginners and frequent yoga practitioners (good for students of all
levels). The easiest variation of the pose will be taught, then
more advanced options will be given for those who wish for
more difficulty. Note: This class is more challenging than
the regular Hatha Yoga.

Restorative Yoga - Restorative yoga adapts classical asana practice to de-emphasize physical work and emphasize release of tension and gentle re-alignment. Using a series of passive forward bends, gently back bends, and reclining poses, restorative yoga both calms the mind and stimulates the movement of prana or life force throughout the entire body. These supported "restoratives" activate the parasympathetic nervous system (the body's natural healing system) and are beneficial to everyone seeking stress reduction, and opportunities for well being through stillness.
Yin Yoga - A deep physical discipline of yoga that enhances nourishment and strength of the meridian system (unseen pathway that continuously flows throughout the body, carrying energy and blood throughout the entire network). Often the poses are quite basic, but an extensive mindful hold in them allows for the opening of these 'energy channels' to maintain a harmonious balance of body, mind and spirit.
Yin/Yang Yoga - Provides the best of both yin and yang practices in one class! In this class, you flow through a variety of Hatha yoga poses more quickly, to then marry the yin practice with yang practice. The the yin portion of the class consists of holding simple Hatha yoga poses for extended periods of time (usually between 3 to 5 minutes) to stretch beyond the muscles to create greater flexibility in the connective tissues between the joints. The extended holding of these stretches in the yin portion is ideal for creating a more meditative state, while the more dynamic yang portion helps to strengthen and invigorate the body and mind.
